[Huh. She's met Maul, and she knew pretty much immediately that he's off his nut. She didn't judge at the time because it's a matter of the pot calling the kettle black there, but her own expression seems a little put off.]
Someone's compensating for something, huh. [She frowns.] ...What do you wanna do?
[That actually gets a small, albeit uncomfortable laugh.]
Yeah, his lower half is metal. Compensation might actually be a thing.
[Willow shifts uncomfortably. She is still convinced she did the right thing, helping to curse Maul, but especially the fallout from Ozpin's vampire problems, she is less convinced others will see it the same way.
Faith had taken her side then, but also clearly voiced her feelings about being finding herself depowered.]
That curse was supposed to keep him from hurting anyone until he felt real remorse for his actions. I didn't think he'd find a way around it and right away go back to trying to terrorize everyone.
you don't know me but i know willow. name's john constantine, don't know how much she has or hasn't said about me. figured i'd go ahead and introduce myself.
[She'd be lying if she said she wasn't avoiding Tara. She'd spent the majority of her time in the Clockhouse in the last two days, which is absurd, since her would-be torturer is still here. She's visited the house she shares with Tara, but never for long enough to talk. She's not sure Tara even wants her there anymore.
But Tara calls her and there's something in her voice that Faith can't shun out of fear like she's shunned everything else.]
...Yeah.
Think we should. I'll... come home. Give me a moment.
You broke the nail polish so YOU have to replace it and you better get the right red. It's an autumn red, not a cherry red or Christmas red or ruby slippers red. I can't believe you can't handle a hangnail, you big Sith baby.
[It takes her a second to process what Usagi's saying, and by the time she does, she's on the camera
...This invokes several emotions in Faith that she has no idea how to describe. She kind of wants to laugh, kind of wants to throw her omni into the sea. It shows clearly on her face that she looks, for the briefest moment, like she's been slapped.
It's not that she doesn't know Usagi and Maul are close - they're very public about it - but, it's still startling receiving a message from the guy you killed. The guy who murdered your... something-friend. And more than that, the fact that it's something so ridiculously benign... she thinks about Maul whimpering on the floor as Willow pumped electricity into him again and again - how Faith for the first time had been moved by pity to take aim and put a bullet in his head.]
[Okay, this is the second message she's had about Maul in about as many days. She's at least not a prude and keeps a fairly deadpan face through this whole thing, resisting the urge to laugh. Two can play at that game.]
Well, damn, let's not get ahead of ourselves. What kind of movie are we talkin' here? Getting in my pants isn't quite that easy. It's gotta be one of the Die Hards, at least.
[She's fully aware this isn't meant for her. But she's a dick. Also in some ways she's kind of impressed he's still getting laid after having his entire lower body cut off.]
I hope you stay safe and warm this winter. Please let me know if you need anything. I know you can take care of yourself but it never hurts to have help.
[This year, Maul had decided to behave himself when it came to giving gifts, unlike in years past where he broke into people's houses rather like Santa himself did. All gifts are left on the porch or front step of the recipient's home for them to find in the morning.
As for Faith, all she would receive would be a bag of coal, signed with a rather sarcastic note wishing her a Merry Christmas in blocky writing from Darth Maul. Is he petty? Oh yes.]
